Hey, its so nice to meet you.  I'm  Kelly Furnival.  I am a hairdresser and the co owner of Solstice Hair Studio in Prestwich, Manchester, UK with my business partner Meg Piper.  A VTCT qualified Assessor in Hairdressing, I am also an independent educator for KF Hair Education.

 

KF Hair Education was born out of my passion for colour and love of sharing knowledge and helping others.

With over 27 years' experience in the hair and beauty industry, I have a wealth of hair and colour science knowledge, experience and skills that I cannot wait to share with you all.

My mission is to offer bespoke commercial colour training sessions that give each attendee the opportunity to learn all about modern colour techniques, my signature sectioning patterns for a Bomb Proof result every time and back that up with the necessary business knowledge and skills to be profitable and successful.  Think time smart, commercial, high end colour techniques that are transferrable to nearly every client demographic.  The techniques are super easy to follow whether you're still training or if you're a seasoned pro.  It is important that every person feels involved and goes away with the confidence to implement the techniques immediately  and that they have the opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences of the industry.

My sessions are all about creative minds coming together and learning new skills that they can take away and use in their own salons.  I have a ‘work smart AND hard’ approach and my classes are centred on running a busy column in a salon environment. Every technique demonstrated on the sessions is used every day in my own salon.

Over the past few years, I have developed my own signature style of colouring and I specialise in hair painting, foiling and colour melting to create seamless blends that scream high end and give longevity to the client.  These techniques are perfect for most colour appointments are lean especially towards the seamless, lived in colour, clients who are transitioning to a more blended natural colour that embraces those pesky sparkles (who has the time these days for a 4 weekly root tint appointment?), and even those high impact blondes that want BRIGHT but don't want the maintenance.

 

 My style of colouring is based on the fundamental principal of my signature triangular sectioning pattern. It is my go-to when creating ribbons of colours throughout the hair, whether I am blending and melting colours together, vivid work, balayage or foiling.  This sectioning pattern forms the main part of my classes and I will teach you everything, including: placement, colour theory, tools of the trade, products, how to deal with client expectations and pricing, along with giving you all the fundamental colour theory and the WHY behind everything I do.
